Tuan ACP. S.Shanmugamoorthy s/o Chinniah, AMN,B.C.K, AAP, P.K.N is presently Assistant Director, Legal & Prosecution Division(D5), Criminal Investigation Department, Royal Malaysian Police, Bukit Aman.
He has 32 years of service with Malaysian police especially in the Criminal Investigation Department. He has handled high profile cases from 2006 till now.
He has represented Malaysia in many forums relating to Human Rights Public Inquiry and on matters related to extradition of fugitives which involves Capital punishment-2012. He has vast experience in the field of terrorism & organised crime
He has accompanied Attorney General of Malaysia on overseas missions for discussion on the investigative role of Malaysia in relation to flight MAS MH17 and on Anti- Trafficking. Presented papers in Thamarsat University of Bangkok on Pre-Trial Detention and Interrogation. He is well versed in criminal law matters and has conducted numerous courses in colleges and universities here
