Description
Terms and Conditions for Contestants:
- Solo acts, duets, and bands are welcome to participate;
- There is no limit to the number of members per act / band but only one member may be a non-Member of the Malaysian Bar;
- Open to all Members of the Bar and pupils in chambers, regardless of age;
- All contestants must register by 15 June 2025 (Sunday). If more than 15 acts sign up, a semi-final round be held via video submission. Shortlisted participants will be notifiedby 18 June 2025 to submit a video of their performance (solo / band) by email to dania@malaysianbar.org.my on or before 25 June 2025 (Wednesday). The 10 finalists will be notified on 28 June 2025 (Saturday);
- The 10 finalists will perform live at Drum Asia Live on 4 July 2025 before a live audience;
- Both original and cover songs are permitted. Contestants are reminded to refrain from using vulgar or offensive language;
- The duration of the final performance must be between five to seven minutes;
- Judging will be conducted by a three-person panel
- Free practice sessions at Drum Asia Live for the 10 finalists during week of 30 June 2025 (Monday) are available on a first come, first served basis and subject to availability;
- Each of the 10 finalists will be allocated a free rehearsal session (maximum 1.5 hours per act / band) at Drum Asia Live on 3 July 2025 (Thursday), anytime between 12:00 pm and 12:00 am;
- Electric and acoustic guitars, bass, keyboards, and a drum set will be provided at Drum Asia Live for the practice sessions, rehearsal, and live show; and
- No registration fee is imposed on the contestants.
Terms and Conditions
Event Policy
For events with registration fees, all payments must be made in advance, including bank charges. Registration will be confirmed once proof of payment is provided by email or fax, and full payment is received.
For events that are not organised by Bar Council, please note that you are subject to the relevant terms and conditions specified by the external providers.
Cancellation
Cancellations must be made in writing.
If you have failed to inform the organiser on your cancellation for three consecutive times, you may be blacklisted for future events.
Refunds
Refunds will be processed after the event is completed. This may take up to 30 business days. The conditions for refunds are as follows:
- Full refunds will be issued if the event is cancelled or postponed by the organiser due to some circumstances.
- No refunds for this course. However substitution is allowed.
The organiser reserves the right to modify, cancel or postpone the event, should circumstances arise that make such action necessary, whereupon all registration fees paid will be refunded.
Transferral
You are allowed to transfer your place to another participant, but you must notify the organiser with the necessary details.
Privacy
The personal information that you provide to the Bar Council, whether now or in the future, may be used, recorded, stored, disclosed or otherwise processed by or on behalf of the Bar Council for the purposes of facilitation and organisation of this event, research and audit, maintenance of a participant database for the promotion of this event, and such ancillary services as may be relevant.
