Description
This Bar Council Child Rights Committee webinar aims to provide a multi-section platform to discuss current challenges and gaps in child protection, and to promote collaboration among key stakeholders including media, government agencies, and social advocates.
The webinar will cover the following topics:
- An overview of the current state of child protection in Malaysia, including key challenges such as abuse, neglect, child labour, online exploitation, and bullying;
- Identification of gaps in enforcement, policy implementation, and community awareness that hinder effective child protection efforts;
- The media’s responsibility in reporting on child-related issues and influencing public perception and policy change;
- How school-based prevention and intervention strategies can contribute to safer and more supportive environments for children; and
- Recommendations for improved inter-agency coordination, legislative reforms, and stronger collaboration across sectors to enhance Malaysia’s child protection framework.
This webinar will offer valuable insights into best practices for protecting and promoting children’s rights through coordinated, cross-sectional efforts. It aims to ensure that all approaches contribute meaningfully to the well-being and safety of children in Malaysia.
Join us for an engaging session dedicated to exploring current realities and responsibilities in the protection of children.
