ANAND RAJ has been in practice since 1996 and a partner at Shearn Delamore & Co. since 2003. He currently serves as the Head of the Tax Disputes Practice and the Co-Head of Competition Law & Antitrust at the firm. Shearn Delamore & Co. has been recognised by the International Tax Review as the Asia Tax Transactions Firm of the Year in 2018, the Malaysia Tax Disputes and Litigation Firm of the Year for 2016, 2017, 2018, 2020, 2021 and 2025, the Asia-Pacific Tax Litigation Law Firm of the Year for 2025, the Asia-Pacific Tax Law Firm of the Year for 2025 and for the Asia-Pacific APAC Impact Case for the Year 2025 in Director General of Inland Revenue v Kind Action.

Anand currently serves as the Vice President of the Malaysian Bar. Anand is the Chair of the Tax Committee of Malaysian Bar and the former Chair of the International Fiscal Association (IFA), Malaysia Branch.

NORHAYATI MOHAMED is an advocate and solicitor of High Court of Malaya, and has been actively practicing since 1991. She obtained her LLB Hons from University of Malaya in 1990. She is now a Senior Managing Partner at Messrs Fariz Halim & Co.

Her area of practice and expertise is on conveyancing, corporate, privatization, intellectual property and maritime law. In terms of legal training & workshops, she was an Invited Speaker at Seminars and Workshops conducted by the Bar Council, government, semi government and private entities for corporate, company, property, maritime and land law.

She was the Chairperson for Conveyancing Sub Committee for Johore Bar for the term 2021/2022, 2022/2023 and 2023/2024. She is currently the Chairperson for Bar Council Solicitor Remuneration Enforcement Committee and a member of Conveyancing Practice Committee and Small Firm Practice Committee.

ANDREW WONG was called to the Malaysian Bar in 1978 and was a member of the Bar Council from 1987-1989. He was the Chairman of the CPC from 2008-2010 and the Chairman of the SREC for many years. He is currently a member of the CPC and the SREC.

R. JAYABALAN graduated with Bachelor of Law (LLB Hons) from the International Islamic University Malaysia in 1996 and obtained his post-graduate Master in Business Administration (MBA) from International Islamic University Malaysia in 2004.

Jaya was called to the Bar in April 1997. He has been in active practice since then based in Johor Bahru and conducting litigation in various courts. He is the principal of his own firm Messrs R. Jayabalan.

His main area of practice is litigation and dispute resolution. He is an active litigator at trial and appellate level. He regularly appears at all levels of courts from Magistrates Court, Sessions Court, High Court, Court of Appeal and Federal Court. He also conducts litigation at the Industrial Court and arbitration.

Jaya’s main area of practice is professional negligence, industrial relations and employment law, general tort, contract/commercial law, insurance and banking law, land and strata laws and administrative law amongst others. He also actively writes and speaks on various issues of law and procedure and on issues concerning legal practice in the country.

Jaya is a member of the Bar Council. He has served as Chairman of the Johore Bar and is currently the Bar Rep and Treasurer of the Malaysian Bar. He chairs the Finance Committee and is the Deputy Chair of the Risk Management Committee of the Bar Council.

FADHIL IHSAN is the founding partner of Azwad Ihsan & Co., with offices in Johor Bahru and Kuala Lumpur. He currently serves as the Chairman of the Johore Bar and Co-Chair of the Bar Council Legal Tech, AI & Sandbox Committee.

Dale has been at the forefront of driving innovation within the Bar. He leads multiple initiatives on Legal Technology and Artificial Intelligence and has delivered numerous sessions on practical technology adoption for lawyers, focusing on accessible, secure and efficient digital solutions for modern legal practice.
