Forum on Limited Liability Law Partnerships (Hybrid)

17 Apr 2026 - Fri / 1 day / 9:00am - 5:00pm /

Amendments to the Legal Profession (Amendment) Act 2025 now permit law firms to practise as Limited Liability Partnerships (“LLPs”) established under the Limited Liability Partnerships Act 2012, upon registration as Limited Liability Law Partnerships (“LLLPs”). Existing law firm partnerships may also convert into LLPs under the 2012 Act, subject to registration as an LLLP and compliance with the amended provisions of the Legal Profession (Amendment) Act 2025.

In the light of this, the Limited Liability Law Partnership Subcommittee under the Bar Council Corporate and Commercial Law Committee will be organising a forum to discuss the LLLP framework, including its legal basis, objectives and scope; the current status of the LLLP Rules; and the anticipated timeline and preparatory steps for firms intending to transition to or register as an LLLP.

More information on the programme will be provided in due course.
