Speaker

Ann Chuah Siew Ean is a legal associate with Messrs Hisham Yoong-K.C. Lim. She graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree with honours from the University of London and was called to the Malaysian Bar in 2009. Her main area of practice is compulsory land acquisition. She has represented both Lembaga Lebuhraya Malaysia for the West Coast Expressway (WCE) and the landowners in various projects such as Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) and Light Rapid Transit (LRT).

She has extensive experience in land acquisition and land related matters having worked in the Valuation and Property Services Department, Ministry of Finance for 33 years since 1974. During her tenure in the civil service, she assisted the Selangor State Legal Advisor in land reference matters both at the High Court and Supreme Court.

She has conducted lectures on Law of Property, Land Taxation and Compulsory Land Acquisition in the Institute Penilaian Negara, Bangi (INSPEN).

She is in the panel for the publication of “A Handbook For Assessors” by the Royal Institution of Surveyors Malaysia (RISM). She also practises family law and is a member of the Family Law Committee of the Bar Council.
