Bar Wars! is an exciting event organised by the Bar Council Intellectual Property Committee, which will feature the staging of a mock trial on intellectual property issues.
The session will consist of a briefing to all participants, case analysis, consultation with counsel, and an actual court trial with all the drama that it entails — including preliminary objections, presentation of witness testimonies, cross-examination of witnesses (in the most ruthless manner where possible) — followed by legal submissions before the presiding judge, and culminating in a judgment.
This edition of Bar Wars! is indeed a special event, as we will pay tribute to the late Wong Sai Fong, a beloved and active former senior member of the Intellectual Property Committee, who served on the committee for over 15 years.
