Description
The rapid digitalisation of Islamic finance in Malaysia presents both exciting opportunities and complex legal challenges. In this series, we will examine the digitalisation of Islamic finance, focusing on regulatory frameworks, digital banking, and Syariah-compliant fintech innovations such as robo-advisory, peer-to-peer financing, and AI-driven financial services.
This talk will highlight Malaysia’s licensing regime under the Islamic Financial Services Act 2013, the rise of Islamic digital banks in Malaysia, and the Securities Commission Malaysia’s oversight of digital investment platforms.
Legal practitioners will gain practical insights into advising on digital Islamic finance products, understanding regulatory expectations, and addressing future legal and ethical challenges in this evolving financial landscape.
