Dato' Varghese George graduated with an LLB Degree from the University of Singapore in 1974. He was in private legal practice for 35 years and the Senior Partner of Messrs Zain & Co in Kuala Lumpur (specialising in civil, commercial, construction, land and administrative litigation and arbitration matters) before being appointed a Judicial Commissioner in Oct 2009.
He was elevated as a Judge of the High Court in Aug 2011 and served at the Penang High Court from Jan 2011 to Sept 2013. He was thereafter elevated to the Court of Appeal in Oct 2013 and retired from the Bench on 27 Jan 2017.
He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb) and of the Malaysian Institute of Arbitrators (FMIArbs) and currently acts as an Arbitrator, Adjudicator and Mediator in various disputes.
