Description
Effective client communication is a vital skill for both Members of the Bar and pupils in chambers. It involves more than just explaining legal issues — it requires active listening, conveying complex information in clear, simple terms, and managing clients’ expectations with professionalism and empathy. Strong communication helps build trust, prevents misunderstandings, and upholds the standards of the legal profession, ensuring that clients feel supported and well-informed throughout their legal journey.
The talk will cover the following topics:
- Baseline requirements, ie the do’s and don’ts of client communication;
- How to first build, then continue to develop the client-solicitor relationship;
- The tools for clear communication; and
- How to prepare for a client meeting
