K.A. Ramu has been practicing in the field of Criminal Law for the past 18 years in Klang Valley

His main practice in criminal law involves capital punishment cases in particular drug trafficking, murder and kidnapping. His leading case on drug trafficking which is the case of Pendakwa Raya v Sidibe Mariame (2013) 4 MLR 682, involving the Penal Code defence of drug intoxication which was reaffirmed in the Federal Court .

He was the pass Co-Chairperson of the Selangor Bar Legal Aid Centre, YBGK for the year of 2013-2015 and awarded the Selangor Legal Aid Award for 2016-2017.

He is now the present Co-Chairperson of Legal Aid Centre & YBGK.

He has given many talks on how to conduct a criminal trial.
