Description
The global rise of esports has propelled competitive gaming into mainstream recognition not only as entertainment but as a legitimate sporting discipline, bringing with it complex legal and regulatory considerations. A key milestone reflecting esports’ growing legitimacy is its inclusion as an official medal event at major multi-sport competitions most notably at the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, and now confirmed for the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya in 2026. This introductory webinar provides a practical overview of the key legal issues shaping the esports industry. Participants will gain an understanding of the esports ecosystem and explore foundational legal topics such as contracts, intellectual property, governance structures, player rights, sponsorships and dispute resolution mechanisms.
