Mandatory mediation before trial could be on the horizon as it is an effective method to reduce case backlogs.

To help Members of the Malaysian Bar understand and prepare for this development, the Malaysian International Mediation Centre (“MIMC”), through its Mediation Advocacy Campaign, invites you to explore how mediation can reshape your practice and help you stay ahead of the curve.

Find out about MIMC’s Mediation Advocacy Course, designed to equip lawyers with the skills and confidence to act as mediation advocates to guide clients effectively through the mediation process.

This session will cover the following topics:
(1) Introduction to MIMC;
(2) Introduction to mediation;
(3) How MIMC can help you adapt in a changing legal landscape;
(4) Introduction to MIMC’s Mediation Advocacy Course ― Becoming a Mediation Advocate:
(a) The lawyer’s role before, during and after mediation;
(b) Setting up and preparing for mediation;
