This talk will discuss the change of name, minimum threshold increased, single order bankruptcy, voluntary arrangement, substituted service, absolute protection for social guarantor and other guarantors, prohibited objections to discharge of bankrupt, automatic discharge and effective dates of the amendments.
Speaker
Trevor Mark Padasian was admitted to the Bar of of the Supreme Court of Victoria, Australia, in 1991 and to the Malaysian Bar in 1993. Trevor has experience in the areas of Insolvency (Corporate and Personal), Family/Matrimonial Law and Corporate and Commercial Disputes as well as Aviation and Arbitration. He handles a variety of court disputes in all the courts including trials at the High Court and appellate work at the Court of Appeal and Federal Court.
His contribution to the continuing professional development of the legal fraternity and public institutions include talks on Personal Insolvency (Bankruptcy) on behalf of the Bar Council, Kuala Lumpur and Johor Bar Committees as well as for the benefit of the Employees Provident Fund Board and Bursa Malaysia.
Trevor has also written articles published in Skrine’s Newsletter, Legal Insights, on a wide ranging number of subjects, including Insolvency, Family/Matrimonial Law, Constitutional Law and Human Rights and Personal Law.
