Description
The Bar Council Child Rights Committee and Bar Council Cyber and Privacy Laws Committee is jointly organising a forum on empowering children and youths against cyberbullying. This forum will bring experts, policymakers, educators, and advocates to discuss and address the growing concern of cyberbullying among children and youths. The event’s objective is to provide a comprehensive understanding of cyberbullying’s impact on children and youths, and to explore legal remedies available, effective enforcement, and public policy responses to combat this issue.
The forum will cover the following topics:
- The psychological, emotional, and social impact that victims often face, providing a deeper understanding of the issue’s multifaceted impact;
- Challenges of enforcing laws and suggestion for improvements to ensure better protection for children and youths, specifically in the digital age; and
- Discussion on existing policies and proposal of new strategies to address the mental health challenges resulted by or as consequences of cyberbullying, emphasising the need for a holistic approach.
