The Bar Council Conveyancing Practice Committee will be organising a webinar, featuring a speaker from the Department of the Director General of Lands and Mines (Jabatan Ketua Pengarah Tanah dan Galian Persekutuan, “JKPTG”), YBrs Tuan Jaiya b Abu, Director of the Land Management and Legislation Division of the Department, on the registration of land pursuant to inheritance orders involving foreign
nationals.
The webinar will provide Members with an overview of the legal and practical considerations that arise when a foreign national becomes entitled to land by way of inheritance, including the application of section 433B(1) of the National Land Code [Act 828].
The session will also cover the relevant procedures and considerations when dealing with the registration of such inheritance orders, particularly where the land is subject to restrictions under the National Land Code or applicable State laws.
Members are encouraged to attend this webinar to gain a better understanding of the relevant requirements and procedures and to enhance their practical knowledge when advising clients and dealing with the relevant land offices in estate administration matters involving foreign beneficiaries.
